3.LONE STAR | ||
1870' from state of Kentucky 201cm x 173cm The star of Bethlehem is a star in Christian tradition that reveals the birth of Jesus. This motif is still widely used in churches today. This motif was popular amongst Amish quilters and used into quilts with the reflection of commitment to Christian faith. A star giving light in the darkness has a biblical theme, and Lone star is an extremely versatile design for quilts. A single 8 pointed star is radiating from the center of the star out leading itself to a kaleidoscopic effect. It requires an extensive needlework to carefully align for artistic effect and beautifully executed to form a star in the dawn. We will introduce you more Lone Star quilts later. |
