8.LONE STAR | ||
1930' from state of Indiana 211cm×203cm Lone Star was named by Texan quilters as Texas is called "Lone star state". A star motif was used to symbolize American flag as you know, and each state had its own lone star quilt. Texas lone star symbolizes vividness, and Tennessee lone star symbolizes water, and Kentucky lone star symbolizes the glitter of stars like stained glass. This lone star was made in Indiana state, and it expresses light at noon. It was also called as Yellow star quilt. Beautiful embroideries of diamonds and circles of double feathers were done on the white fabric, and it adds to the elegant effect of this quilt. |
